Service Upgrades for Content and Mobile App
Expanded Support for Artist Promotion... Strengthening the Cultural Ecosystem
On June 24, Gwangju City announced that it will completely revamp its integrated culture and arts platform, 'Dear My Gwangju,' in the second half of this year to enhance citizens' access to culture and increase opportunities for participation.
'Dear My Gwangju' is the nation's first community-based public platform that integrates and provides a wide range of cultural and artistic information in Gwangju, including performances, exhibitions, festivals, and educational programs. It is establishing itself as a digital cultural plaza that enables communication and collaboration among artists, citizens, and cultural institutions.
'Dear My Gwangju' was launched after establishing its basic plan in 2019, conducting a pilot operation in 2020, and officially opening in 2022. Currently, the platform operates various programs, including: ▲ the weekly cultural information content 'Gwangju This Week's Hot Spots,' ▲ the cultural event review-sharing community 'Gwangju Culture Review Tour,' and ▲ the art collaboration project 'Looking for Artists.'
Through this upgrade, the city will pursue comprehensive improvements, including: ▲ providing citizen-customized content, ▲ enhancing mobile app features, ▲ expanding promotional support for artists, and ▲ operating participatory events.
In particular, the platform will newly introduce planned content such as 'Dimagwang Wattagam' (cultural experience certification) and 'Gwangju Art Full Course' (recommended cultural outing courses). It will also create specialized categories for topics of high public interest, such as the '5·18 Commemoration Event,' to further improve accessibility and convenience for major cultural events. Additionally, the platform will introduce an algorithm-based personalized service that analyzes user preferences to provide content tailored to individual interests.
The mobile app will feature improved user interface (UI) and search functions, and will regularly send out information on major cultural events to citizens through app push notifications and KakaoTalk alerts, thereby enhancing both user convenience and satisfaction.
Through 'Dear My Artist,' a dedicated promotional space for artists, the city will actively support local artists in building their portfolios and promoting their works. The city will also significantly expand citizen-participation online events, such as performance and exhibition ticket giveaways, point-accumulation missions, and merchandise prizes. In addition, a social networking service (SNS) campaign to increase subscribers will run until July 14, with winners receiving tickets to popular music concerts and musicals.
Shin Shinha, Director of Cultural Policy, stated, "Dear My Gwangju is a platform where citizens and artists create culture together, going beyond simply providing information," and added, "We will broaden citizens' opportunities to enjoy culture through richer content and more sophisticated services."
