This town hall meeting broke away from conventional formats, allowing members themselves to present the organization’s achievements, followed by an open Q&A session with key executives. Notably, it was the first time since the company’s founding that such an event was held at the Magok headquarters, where the company’s core research and development (R&D) personnel are gathered, adding further significance.

During the performance sharing session, LG Uplus highlighted key development cases, including the AI-based communication service ‘IXIO’, targeting foreign customer segments, AI data center design, construction, and operation business, as well as quantum security-based enterprise software ‘U+SASE’ and ‘Alphakey’. In all these cases, members from the respective departments appeared in videos to directly explain the achievements.

Hong Beomsik, president of LG Uplus, cited the personalization of voice ARS (CX Center) and AI Bizcall for daycare centers (enterprise division) as examples of discovering differentiated customer value, stating, “It is meaningful in that our strategy is being implemented and advancing step by step.”

President Hong said, “We have confirmed our potential and commitment to change, and I truly feel that everyone’s passion is collectively shaping the company’s future. For these achievements to evolve into structural competitiveness that enables us to surpass our competitors, LG Uplus needs its own unique Winning R&D.”

Winning R&D is a strategy that involves focusing investment on technology fields that can deliver results in the mid- to long-term, and rapidly developing them to create differentiated customer value. The core is to prioritize the development of technologies that are essential from the customer’s perspective and to establish a development system capable of realizing these technologies as actual services.

To this end, he called for: selecting technologies by considering their contribution to future society and differentiated potential; selectively concentrating resources on the chosen technologies to maximize the chances of success; and securing the 3B (Build/Buy/Borrow) capabilities needed to optimize those technologies.

In addition, President Hong introduced ongoing cases in the CTO division’s service development system and the evolution of the ‘autonomous operating network’ being promoted in the network division, and encouraged the members.

Currently, the CTO organization is building a ‘service development system’ that swiftly and persistently improves in response to diverse customer needs. In the network division, efforts are underway to expand proactive risk assessment, design future architectures, and focus on high-value tasks through work agents.

President Hong stated, “A brighter future can only be realized when all members think and act together,” adding, “We will continue to expand horizontal communication with our members to foster empathy and voluntary participation.”
