On June 24, SKC announced that it had conducted invasive plant removal activities at Seonbawi Park in Ulsan as part of efforts to protect the habitat of migratory birds. The event was attended by Choi Dohwan, CEO of SK PIC Global, as well as employees from SKC and SK PIC Global.
Participants removed invasive plants such as bur cucumber and kudzu, which hinder the growth of native plants in Seonbawi Park, and observed plants, insects, and birds in the park together with a nature guide.
Previously, in April, SKC carried out "My Green Nature" activities at Tancheon in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, and last month at Naejangsan in Jeongeup, Jeollabuk-do. In April, SKC conducted water purification activities and plogging to clean up the riverside environment at Tancheon, where the ISC headquarters is located. Last month, the company also carried out invasive fish capture activities at Naejangsan National Park in Jeongeup, where the SK Nexilis business site is located.
An SKC representative said, "Through 'My Green Nature,' which involves employee participation, we were able to experience firsthand that small actions can be the first step toward ecosystem restoration," adding, "We will continue to promote a variety of participatory programs that allow the practice of eco-friendly values to become a natural part of daily life in collaboration with local communities."
