Gwangju Metropolitan City, the five district Out-of-School Youth Support Centers, and the Gwangju Financial Social Welfare Association signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on the 23rd to discover and recruit candidates for the Youth Challenge Support Project and to provide high-quality programs through institutional cooperation.

The signing ceremony was attended by the heads of the Out-of-School Youth Support Centers of Gwangju Metropolitan City, Dong-gu, Seo-gu, Nam-gu, Buk-gu, and Gwangsan-gu, as well as the head of the Youth Financial Welfare Support Center of the Gwangju Financial Social Welfare Association and officials from related organizations.

These organizations agreed to focus on the Youth Challenge Support Project in order to address employment difficulties and to accelerate the social integration of out-of-school youth.

In particular, through the first consultative body meeting held in May, the organizations discussed ways to strengthen cooperation and successfully connected about 20 out-of-school youth to relevant programs.

They also linked youth policies to coincide with the period when out-of-school youth begin preparing for employment, and through ongoing discussions, established a systematic post-completion support plan, including the 1·3·5 transportation subsidy program, which provides transportation expenses for job preparation after program completion.

According to representatives from the six Out-of-School Youth Support Centers in Gwangju Metropolitan City, Dong-gu, Seo-gu, Nam-gu, Buk-gu, and Gwangsan-gu, "Thanks to the interest and cooperation of the participating organizations, today's event was successfully organized," and added, "Above all, we expect this to be a high-quality opportunity that will accelerate the healthy independence of not only isolated youth in the employment blind spot but also out-of-system youth."

Meanwhile, based on this consultative body, continuous post-completion support will be provided to out-of-school youth who complete the program, including: 1·3·5 transportation subsidy according to the completion period; customized financial and economic education; achievement bonuses when saving participation allowances; incentives for successful linkages; completion incentives; and employment incentives.
