Full-scale Preparation Begins to Strengthen Global Competence
Sahmyook University has launched the 'Overseas Employment Training Program University Consortium Orientation,' officially commencing the operation of the program.
The event was held on June 20 at Hong Myungki Hall in Yohangwan on the university campus. It was attended by Sahmyook University President Je Haejong, who serves as the lead university, as well as Jang Inho, Director of Student Success at Daejin University; Lee Horim, Director of the Career Development Center at Duksung Women’s University; Heo Sungmin, Director of the Career Plus Center at Seokyeong University; other university officials; and approximately 100 participants, including trainees from the four universities.
The overseas employment training program, supported by the Human Resources Development Service of Korea, is a talent development initiative tailored to the needs of overseas companies. It is a comprehensive program that provides language and job training, career counseling and placement services, as well as local living information to support successful settlement abroad. Sahmyook University has been selected to operate this program for eight consecutive years since 2018, and to date, it has successfully placed 148 graduates in local companies in the United States.
This year, Sahmyook University is again collaborating with Daejin University, Duksung Women’s University, and Seokyeong University to jointly operate the 'Global INNO-Biz Northern Seoul Consortium.' Centered on Sahmyook University as the lead institution, the participating universities will work together to establish overseas employment hubs and infrastructure in the northeastern Seoul area and implement a systematic training curriculum.
The programs offered by each university include: ▲ Global e-Biz Specialist Training Program (20 students at Sahmyook University); ▲ Global Design Specialist Training Program (20 students at Sahmyook University); ▲ Global Business Specialist Training Program (20 students at Daejin University); ▲ Smart Trade, Logistics & Accounting Specialist Training Program (20 students at Duksung Women’s University); and ▲ Global Business Data Analysis Specialist Training Program (20 students at Seokyeong University). All participants aim to secure employment in North America, including the United States and Canada.
The curriculum consists of a total of 600 hours, including overseas language training, business English, job-specific training, and education on culture, safety, and regulations. The goal is to cultivate practical talent that meets the needs of local companies. In addition, the program provides systematic support for job placement, verification, and follow-up management through close cooperation with alumni organizations in the United States and specialized overseas employment agencies.
President Je Haejong stated, "This challenge you are undertaking is not just a simple training program but a valuable first step toward your future. The experiences you gain in an unfamiliar environment will broaden and deepen your life. We will remain steadfast partners to help trainees demonstrate their capabilities on the global stage."
