Sacheon City Operates Promotional Booth at the 55th Paris Air Show

Proving Sacheon's Status as a Global Aerospace City

Sacheon City in South Gyeongsang Province announced on the 24th that it achieved remarkable results at the 55th Paris Air Show, including 68 B2B consultations, a total consultation amount of 929.7 billion KRW, and the signing of one memorandum of understanding (MOU) through the operation of its promotional booth.

The Paris Air Show, held at Paris Le Bourget Airport, is the world's largest aerospace industry event, with participation from more than 2,500 companies representing 50 countries worldwide.

In addition to exhibitions, the event featured a variety of programs, including official ceremonies (such as the opening ceremony), aircraft demonstrations and aerobatic flights, B2B meetings, and seminars.

During the Paris Air Show, Vice Mayor Kim and his delegation held discussions on expanding cooperation for domestic aerospace industry exports with a range of global companies, including SAFRAN, Amphenol, and MECADAQ?leading aerospace component manufacturers?as well as Station F, the world’s largest startup incubator.

As a result, Songwol Technology Co., Ltd. and Thailand's QARBON signed an additional export contract (MOU) for business cooperation just one year after their previous contract for the supply of Rolls-Royce Trent 700 and T7000 engine parts, marking another significant achievement.

Furthermore, Sacheon City agreed to sign a related MOU with Amphenol, the largest U.S. aerospace and defense communications equipment company, at ADEX (Seoul International Aerospace and Defense Exhibition) to be held in Seoul this October.

In addition, the delegation visited the booth of SAFRAN, France’s leading aerospace company, and held in-depth discussions regarding SAFRAN’s startup investment program, "SAFRAN EXPLORE." On the same day, they toured SAFRAN’s advanced aircraft components?including fixed-wing and rotary-wing engines and landing gear?and closely examined the company’s technological capabilities and industry status.

Notably, Sacheon City further strengthened its global cooperation network in the aerospace industry by arranging follow-up meetings between local companies and anchor firms in the aerospace sector, including a meeting with Conrad Fijołek, Mayor of Rzeszow, Poland, and other key industry players.

Rzeszow, Poland, established a sister-city relationship with Sacheon City in 2023.

The city expects that international interest in the Sacheon Air Show scheduled for 2026 and the Korea Aerospace Administration (KASA), as well as the ongoing development of the aerospace complex city, will further solidify the foundation for international cooperation.

Vice Mayor Kim Jehong stated, "This air show confirmed Sacheon’s potential to emerge as a hub of the global aerospace industry," adding, "Through the 2026 Sacheon Air Show, the establishment of KASA, and the creation of the aerospace complex city, we will transform Sacheon into the Toulouse of Asia."
