Emphasizing That Close Cooperation and Communication Between the Legislative and Executive Branches Is Urgently Needed
On the evening of June 23, President Lee Jaemyung invited the newly appointed floor leadership of the Democratic Party of Korea to the presidential residence for dinner. The dinner, attended by President Lee, presidential aides, Kim Byungki?the acting leader and floor leader of the Democratic Party of Korea?and other members of the new floor leadership, lasted for about two hours before concluding.
On this day, Kang Yujeong, spokesperson for the presidential office, stated in a written briefing, "President Lee listened carefully to each remark made by the floor leadership and emphasized that now is a time when close cooperation and communication between the legislative and executive branches are urgently needed in order to improve the lives and livelihoods of the people."
The floor leadership, in response, also stressed that enacting reform legislation and livelihood-related bills is an essential condition for the success of the Lee Jaemyung administration, underscoring both the significance and their determination to restore livelihoods and improve the economy.
At this meeting, President Lee also expressed his ambition to become a president with a higher approval rating at the end of his term than at the beginning. Spokesperson Kang said, "President Lee mentioned that close coordination between the party and the government is the foundation of success," adding, "He also expressed his resolve to become a president whose approval rating is higher at the end of his term than at the start."
She continued, "The floor leadership responded positively to President Lee's commitment to do his utmost so that the sovereign people will truly feel that the world has changed and that life has improved."
