At around 12:10 PM on June 23, a sinkhole occurred at the above-ground parking lot of an apartment in Ssangchon-dong, Seo-gu, Gwangju.
As a result of this incident, the rear wheel of an SUV that was parked there fell into the sinkhole, but there were no injuries.
Upon receiving the report, officials from the Seo-gu Office and the apartment management office installed safety barriers at the site to restrict access.
An official from Seo-gu stated, "The basic safety measures have been completed," and added, "We are currently investigating the size and depth of the sinkhole, as well as the cause of its occurrence."
