Knauf Gypsum Board Holds "Safety Day" Event Featuring Disaster Safety Experience Training

Strengthening Crisis Response Capabilities Through Participatory Safety Training for All Executives and Employees

Knauf Gypsum Board Holds "Safety Day" Event Featuring Disaster Safety Experience Training Provided by Knauf Gypsum Board Co., Ltd.

Global building materials specialist Knauf Gypsum Board Co., Ltd. announced that on June 20, 2025, it held a "Safety Day" event for executives and employees at its Seoul headquarters and sales offices, conducting various safety education and experiential programs.

The event was organized to raise employees' safety awareness and to strengthen their practical abilities to respond calmly and quickly to various crisis situations that may occur in daily life.

The "Safety Day" program included hands-on activities such as disaster safety training held at the Gwangnaru Safety Experience Center in Gwangjin-gu, gas mask usage training, and CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) practice. These participatory programs not only enhanced the effectiveness of the training but also increased engagement and interest among employees.

The disaster safety training was conducted in an environment that simulated various disaster scenarios such as earthquakes, typhoons, subway accidents, and fires. Participants directly experienced safety rules and response procedures for each situation, such as evacuation methods during earthquakes, fire extinguisher usage, and escape device operation, thereby improving their practical response capabilities.

One employee who participated in the training commented, "By practicing disaster response procedures that I previously only knew in theory, I now feel confident that I can respond without panic in emergency situations," adding, "Above all, I am grateful to the company for preparing systematic training for the safety of its employees."

Knauf Gypsum Board has also been steadily expanding its educational programs for employee health and safety, including conducting hands-on training on CPR and the use of automated external defibrillators (AED) for employees last year.

Meanwhile, Song Kwangsub, CEO of Knauf Gypsum Board Co., Ltd., stated, "Each employee's safety awareness and ability to respond to dangerous situations are directly linked to the safety of the entire organization," and added, "We will continue our efforts to create a work environment where all employees can work with peace of mind."
