Is the Enemy Within? Busan Port Authority Signs Agreement with Korea Internal Control Institute to Advance Internal Control Systems

Busan Port Authority (BPA, President Song Sanggeun) signed a business agreement on June 23 with the Korea Internal Control Institute (Director Moon Hoseung) to advance their internal control and internal audit systems.

This agreement was promoted to systematically enhance internal control and audit systems and to lay the foundation for acquiring advanced risk management capabilities. BPA plans to use this cooperation as an opportunity to establish internal control as a core infrastructure for organizational management, going beyond simple inspection procedures.

The two organizations set specific implementation goals, including: ▲ advancement of internal control and internal audit systems ▲ development of customized training programs for nurturing professionals ▲ joint case-based research ▲ seminars and technical exchanges to activate a knowledge network. They will also continue to identify practical, field-oriented cooperative projects.

BPA plans to strengthen the preventive function of internal control, address audit blind spots, and improve risk management systems throughout the organization, based on the expertise and experience of the Korea Internal Control Institute.
