Daedong Hospital Receives Three-Year "Excellent Artificial Kidney Unit" Certification from Korean Society of Nephrology

Daedong Hospital (Director: Lee Gwangjae) has received certification as an "Excellent Artificial Kidney Unit" from the Korean Society of Nephrology. The certification is valid for three years, from June 2025 to May 2028.

This certification process was conducted over a three-month period from April to June, targeting patients with end-stage renal disease. The overall evaluation included a review of documents and on-site inspections to comprehensively assess the quality of medical services and the level of patient safety management.

The "Excellent Artificial Kidney Unit" certification is a system granted by the Korean Society of Nephrology through voluntary applications, aiming to improve the quality of hemodialysis treatment provided to end-stage renal disease patients and to establish a safe medical environment. End-stage renal disease is a condition in which most kidney function is lost, making it difficult to sustain life without regular hemodialysis. For this reason, the quality of dialysis is directly linked to the quality of life of patients.

This evaluation covered a variety of criteria, including securing an adequate number of specialized hemodialysis medical staff, standardized treatment processes, a safe and comfortable medical environment, disaster response systems, and the ethical operation of the facility.

Kim Minji, Director of Education and Training at the Artificial Kidney Center of Daedong Hospital (Nephrology Specialist), said, "Our efforts to create a patient-centered dialysis environment and to improve the quality of medical care have been officially recognized through this certification," adding, "We will continue to provide a safe and reliable medical environment based on specialized personnel and a systematic system."

Daedong Hospital stated that this certification once again proves the stability and professionalism of its hemodialysis services, and announced plans to continue providing high-quality services for the health of the local community.
