Seungjae Yoo, founder of Persona AI, which won the CES 2025 Innovation Award, Persona AI is setting the world record for the longest news broadcast using generative AI.
An artificial intelligence (AI) system capable of producing and broadcasting news videos entirely without human intervention has emerged. This AI has been broadcasting continuously, 24 hours a day, for an impressive six months without a single interruption, setting the official highest record with the Korea Record Institute (KRI) as the world’s first in the category of ‘longest generative AI news broadcast’.
This groundbreaking project was made possible by a generative AI model developed by the Korean AI company Persona AI. The model autonomously collects news, generates video, subtitles, and voice, and then broadcasts the content in real time. This goes far beyond simple automation. It is a ‘fully automated news AI’ that receives text-based news articles, then creates and broadcasts corresponding video, narration, and subtitles based on the content.
Persona AI has been applying this system to real-time news broadcasts on its YouTube channel since January. What is remarkable is that the entire process has continued for six months without a single interruption. The broadcast, delivered worldwide, has demonstrated both speed and stability, serving as an opportunity to showcase the potential of Korean AI technology to the world.
The core of this project is generative AI. The AI simultaneously performs various functions such as video production, voice synthesis, and subtitle generation. It ‘creates, edits, and broadcasts’ video content in real time, all without human intervention.
The Korea Record Institute is set to present the official KRI highest record certificate to Persona AI after comprehensively reviewing whether the news was produced by AI, whether it adhered to the dictionary definition of news, and whether it was broadcast live 24 hours a day.
Persona AI is known as a company that develops foundational AI engines. After growing in the AICC field, it expanded into generative AI, winning first place at the U.S. 'GEN AI COMPETITION' and recently receiving the Innovation Award at CES 2025. The AI broadcast has also been recognized for its performance, particularly for the collaborative generation of content in real time by three proprietary AI engines developed in-house.
Seungjae Yoo, CEO of Persona AI, stated, “Through this project, we wanted to demonstrate the true potential of generative AI?how far it can go and how it can be utilized in practice.”
This AI news broadcast serves as both an experiment and an achievement, demonstrating how organically AI can be integrated into content production. In particular, by delegating simple and repetitive tasks to AI, human producers are expected to be able to focus more on strategic and creative content.
