Efficiency and Expertise Expected to Improve

Sejong Public Sports Facilities to Be Operated by Facilities Management Corporation Starting in July

On June 23, the Sejong City government announced that the management and operation of public sports facilities will be handled by the Sejong Facilities Management Corporation starting July 1.

The facilities subject to consignment operation are 123 public sports facilities that were previously managed directly by the Sejong Facilities Management Office and the Water and Sewage Office. The city has already completed the signing of a consignment agreement with the Facilities Management Corporation, which specifies the scope and roles of the consigned tasks, as well as compliance requirements.

According to the agreement, the previously dualized management entities and operating standards for sports facilities will be unified, which is expected to significantly reduce inconvenience for users. The consignment operation period is three years.

Based on its experience operating sports facilities and three swimming pools within Central Park, as well as water play facilities, the Facilities Management Corporation is expected to actively respond to diverse user demands for public sports facilities and improve user satisfaction.

Kim Jongrak, Director of the Facilities Management Office, stated, "We hope that through the consignment operation of public sports facilities, citizens will be able to enjoy sports activities in a more pleasant and safe environment. We will work closely with the corporation to thoroughly prepare and ensure there is no confusion during the initial phase of operation."

As of March 2025, a total of 192 public sports facilities are in operation in Sejong. Reservations for the 123 public sports facilities being consigned or transferred to the corporation can continue to be made through the integrated reservation system as before.
