The Osaka Expo opened on April 13 on Yumeshima, an artificial island in western Osaka, under the theme "Designing Future Society for Our Lives." Over a six-month period until October 13, a total of 158 countries and international organizations from around the world are participating.
On the opening day, Korea launched its pavilion and, centered around "Korea Day" on May 13, has been holding more than 30 events through intergovernmental collaboration to showcase Korean technology and culture.
The Korea Pavilion, built on a large site covering 3,501 square meters, was designed to minimize architectural elements while attracting visitors' attention with a large media facade that visually presents the four seasons, natural landscapes, cultural heritage, and advanced technology.
A KOTRA official stated, "Under the theme 'With Hearts,' the Korea Pavilion has been created as an experiential space that combines advanced technology with emotional content, and local visitors continue to visit steadily."
