The Community Chest of Korea (Chairman Kim Byungjun) announced on June 23 that the MG Saemaeul Geumgo Regional Hope Sharing Foundation (Chairman Kim In) has donated 200 million won to support the "Children’s Safety Education Support Project" for 1,000 children in vulnerable areas.

The donation ceremony, held on the 18th at the Saemaeul Geumgo Central Headquarters in Gangnam-gu, was attended by Kim In, chairman of the MG Saemaeul Geumgo Foundation, Hwang Insik, secretary general of the Community Chest of Korea, and other officials.

The "Children’s Safety Education Support Project" was designed to strengthen children’s safety capabilities and address educational disparities between regions. The project will provide on-site safety education to approximately 1,000 children in areas vulnerable to safety risks, such as regions facing population decline and remote island or mountain villages.

The safety education, delivered via mobile experience vehicles, enables children to physically practice and develop their crisis response skills. The curriculum consists of basic education such as disaster and accident response, traffic safety, and fire safety, as well as region-specific training including water safety, typhoon safety, and aviation safety.

Kim In, chairman of the foundation, stated, "As disaster accidents occur frequently, the need for children’s safety education is increasing. It is most important that children recognize the importance of safety and develop the ability to respond independently in emergencies." He added, "We will continue to work towards creating an environment where future generations can grow up safely."

Hwang Insik, secretary general, commented, "This project is meaningful because it delivers education directly to children in regions with limited access to safety experience, helping them build essential skills." He added, "We will continue to strive to reduce educational disparities between regions and to protect future generations."
