Nomad Premium Line
Triple Cask Blended Whisky
Golden Blue International announced on the 23rd that it has launched "Nomad Reserve 10," a new lineup of the sherry-finished whisky "Nomad Outland Whisky" (hereafter "Nomad") from Gonzalez Byass in Spain.
This new product is a premium line of "Nomad," the only outland whisky available in Korea. It is a triple cask blended whisky that undergoes three distinct maturation processes over a minimum of 10 years.
First, the blending components?malt whisky and grain whisky?are matured for at least six years in ex-bourbon casks in the cool climate of Scotland. After this first maturation, the base spirit is blended in optimal proportions and then transferred to Jerez, Spain, the home of sherry wine, which has a mild climate. There, it undergoes a second maturation for at least two years in sweet Pedro Ximenez sherry casks. After being carefully selected, the spirit, which has already undergone the first and second maturation in Scotland and Jerez, Spain, is then matured for at least another two years in Matusalem VORS casks that are over 30 years old. Matusalem casks are a very rare type of cask used to produce "Matusalem VORS Sherry Wine," which is aged for 30 years. Compared to regular sherry-finished whiskies, these casks impart a much richer and more complex aroma as well as a deeper flavor.
Park Soyoung, CEO of Golden Blue International, stated, "'Nomad Whisky' is a new type of whisky created through a unique maturation process and is part of Golden Blue International's efforts to achieve the 'localization of world-renowned alcoholic beverages.' We will strive to bring a new wave of New World whiskies to the Korean whisky market, alongside the Taiwanese whisky 'Kavalan,' and thereby broaden the range of choices available to consumers."
"Nomad Reserve 10" is being released in a 700ml bottle with an alcohol content of 43.1%. It will first be introduced through major hypermarkets and home-use channels such as smart order systems, and then expand its consumer reach by entering the nightlife market.
