The Gyeongbuk Scholarship Foundation (Chairman Lim Jong-sik) held a scholarship award ceremony on June 23 at the main office's Ungbi Hall, presenting scholarships to the descendants of national merit recipients who participated in the Korean War (6·25 War) and the Vietnam War.
This scholarship award ceremony was attended by leaders of related organizations, including Jeong Yeon-heup, head of the Korean War Veterans Association, and Kim Jun-hyu, head of the Vietnam War Veterans Association. The event was organized to honor the noble spirit of those who sacrificed for the country and to help their descendants take pride in their heritage and plan for their futures.
Since 2020, the Gyeongbuk Scholarship Foundation has consistently provided scholarships to commemorate the contributions of war veterans. Starting in 2025, the amount of support per recipient has been increased to 1 million won, and a total of 20 students received scholarships, amounting to 20 million won in total.
Chairman Lim Jong-sik stated, "I hope that our students, who proudly carry on the noble spirit of those who served the nation, will remember their roots and grow into talented individuals who embrace not only academic achievement but also social responsibility." He added, "The Scholarship Foundation will continue to honor the will of those who sacrificed for the country and provide even more responsible scholarship support so that their descendants can take pride in their heritage and plan for their futures."
