Kiwoom Securities Holds Trading Event to Celebrate REST API Launch

Kiwoom Securities announced on the 23rd that it will hold a trading event to celebrate the launch of the "Kiwoom REST API." The Kiwoom REST API is a web-based program interface that allows users to build their own automated trading systems based on their unique algorithmic strategies.

An API (Application Programming Interface) is a technology that enables data integration between applications and systems. By using this, even general investors can easily utilize various financial services such as building automated trading systems or checking real-time market prices.

This event is open to all customers who have a Kiwoom Securities account and will run until July 31. Every customer who makes trades using the Kiwoom REST API during the event period will receive 10,000 KRW in cash. Customers who trade over 1 million KRW will receive an additional 10,000 KRW in cash.

Top customers by trading volume will be entered into a draw to win trading toolkits, including a MacBook Air and a Xenics gaming chair.

A key feature of the Kiwoom REST API is that anyone can easily build their own automated trading system on various operating systems (OS) such as Windows, Mac, and Linux, without installing separate programs.

It also supports a variety of programming languages. By supporting languages such as Python and Java, Kiwoom provides a wide range of examples and a Q&A board, making it easy for both individual users and professional developers to implement automated trading programs.

In particular, the service also offers an "AI Coding Assistant" based on generative artificial intelligence (AI) and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), allowing users unfamiliar with coding to easily utilize the Kiwoom REST API.

The Kiwoom REST API can be applied for by accessing the Kiwoom REST API homepage through the trading channel menu on the Kiwoom Securities website. In addition, various resources for beginners, such as the API guide, AI Coding Assistant, and Q&A, are also available.
