Yongsangu in Seoul will conduct the "2025 Resident Representative Meeting Operation and Ethics Training for Multi-Family Housing" on June 25 in the main conference room of the Yongsangu Office.
Resident Representative Meeting Operation and Ethics Training Conducted in 2024. Provided by Yongsangu.
This training is a mandatory legal education that members of resident representative meetings are required to complete each year under the Multi-Family Housing Management Act. Previously, only members of the resident representative meetings from the 58 multi-family housing complexes in the district subject to mandatory management were eligible for the training. However, this year, the scope has been expanded to include management entities and residents of non-mandatory management multi-family housing as well.
The training will cover a wide range of topics necessary for public housing management, including recent amendments to relevant laws such as the Multi-Family Housing Management Act and management regulations, accounting matters such as long-term repair reserve funds, and the composition and operation of resident representative meetings and election management committees.
The training will focus on real-life cases that may occur on site. After the session, there will be a Q&A segment to help participants easily understand and effectively apply solutions to common issues and questions they encounter in practice.
In particular, a certified labor attorney has been invited to this training to address topics related to the protection of the human rights of multi-family housing workers, such as security guards. This is expected to enhance the sense of responsibility and ethical awareness among members of resident representative meetings.
Park Heeyoung, Mayor of Yongsangu, stated, "The role of representatives who advocate for the rights and interests of residents and mediate disputes in multi-family housing is becoming increasingly important." She added, "I hope this training will strengthen management capabilities and contribute to the transparent and fair operation of resident representative meetings."
