Netanyahu: "No War of Attrition... Very Close to Achieving Goals"

"I Have Interesting Information Regarding Iran's Enriched Uranium"

On June 22 (local time), Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that Israel is closer to achieving its goal of eliminating the dual threat posed by Iran's ballistic missiles and nuclear program. He emphasized that the country "will not be dragged into a war of attrition" regarding its military operations against Iran.

According to the Times of Israel and other sources, Prime Minister Netanyahu said at a press conference on the same day, "We will not stop this historic operation until we achieve our objectives."

Prime Minister Netanyahu highlighted that the Israeli military has destroyed more than half of Iran's ballistic missile launchers, stating, "We are advancing step by step toward our goals and are very close to achieving them."

He argued that the military operation against Iran could lead to a significant expansion of the Abraham Accords, saying, "An extraordinary opportunity is opening up." The Abraham Accords refer to the normalization of diplomatic relations between Israel and historically adversarial Arab and Islamic countries in the Middle East.

In response to a question regarding the whereabouts of approximately 400 kilograms of 60% enriched uranium believed to be held by Iran, Prime Minister Netanyahu said, "We have been closely tracking this. It is a critical component of the nuclear program," adding, "We have interesting information about this, but I ask for your understanding if we do not share it."

He also commented on U.S. President Donald Trump's decision to participate in the attack on Iran, stating, "I explained to him the necessity for us to take action, and he understood well," adding, "I knew that if the situation became urgent, he would do the right thing." He further remarked that President Trump would do the right thing for the United States, the free world, and civilization.

Meanwhile, regarding the war in the Gaza Strip, Prime Minister Netanyahu said, "We will not take our eyes off Gaza," and noted that the attack on Iran is helping to achieve objectives in the Gaza war. He also stated, "If Hamas surrenders, lays down all its weapons, and releases all hostages, the war could end today."

Additionally, he said that he is continuing to communicate with mediating countries to negotiate a 60-day ceasefire proposal presented by President Trump's Middle East envoy, Steve Witkoff, and added, "I have a plan for permanent peace."
