The Gwangju Jeonnam Branch of the Korea Leukemia Pediatric Cancer Association announced on June 22 that it held a yoga event to help children with leukemia and pediatric cancer, in collaboration with the Gwangju Tourism Organization, as part of the 11th UN International Day of Yoga commemorative event.
The event, held on the morning of June 21 at the outdoor plaza of the Kimdaejung Convention Center, was organized and led by yoga practitioners who formed a project team. Around 100 club members participated, each collecting a participation fee of 20,000 won, which was entirely donated to the Korea Leukemia Pediatric Cancer Association. Some members also registered as regular monthly donors, offering courage and hope to the children.
The "Let's Play Yoga Project Team" (Park Hyunsook, Baek Suin, Jung Myungjin), which organized the event, stated, "On the occasion of the International Day of Yoga, we are grateful that yoga leaders have come together to practice the core values of yoga?healing and recovery?through solidarity with the local community," adding, "We hope this will contribute, even in a small way, to the recovery and cure of children with leukemia and pediatric cancer."
