The "NEON Festival," held on June 20 at Starlight Street in Sillim-dong, drew many visitors who enjoyed a "mini light festival" in the city despite the rain. DJ performances filled with neon-punk vibes, various neon experience booths, and a media art zone captured the interest of young people and residents attending the festival.
Park Junhee, Mayor of Gwanak District, who visited the festival that day, expressed his gratitude, saying, "Although the rain may have made it a bit difficult to fully enjoy the festival, the visitors who lit up Sillim at night even in the rain have brought great comfort to local alley businesses struggling with economic difficulties."
On June 21, when the weather cleared, the local event "Sharosugil Cheongchun Oraksil" was held, attracting around 50,000 visitors who filled Sharosugil and Nakseongdae Park. In addition to a variety of experience booths, visitors enjoyed group games hosted by the professional emcee "Orakman," creating summer memories together.
Mayor Park said, "At Sharosugil Cheongchun Oraksil, where the passion of youth and the vitality of the local community come together, I hope everyone can laugh, have fun, and make memories to their heart's content today. Gwanak District will continue to actively support sustainable growth and mutual prosperity for alley businesses in Sharosugil and beyond."
