LG HelloVision Launches "Affordable Internet" for Young Adults... No TV Bundle or Cancellation Fees

LG HelloVision has launched the "Yojeum Plan Internet Promotion" through its official online store, offering two types of contract-free internet plans priced between 10,000 and 20,000 won per month to customers aged 18 to 39. This is expected to be a tailored benefit for students and office workers who live alone and frequently move, as well as foreigners with short-term stays in Korea.

The Yojeum Plan Internet is the only product in the industry that allows anyone in their 20s or 30s to sign up for a contract-free internet plan priced between 10,000 and 20,000 won per month. Only those who are officially registered as being between 18 and 39 years old are eligible. There are two options: Yojeum Plan Contract-Free Internet (160Mbps, 19,800 won per month) and Yojeum Plan Contract-Free Internet + WiFi (160Mbps, 22,000 won per month).

Customers can use high-speed internet suitable for streaming videos and simple web browsing at more than 46% lower than the regular price (for standalone subscriptions). Additional discounts ranging from 13,000 won to a maximum of 20,000 won per month are available when using a partnered credit card.

Those who apply for a subscription through the LG HelloVision official online store by the end of November can choose between lightning-fast installation within 24 hours or installation on a preferred date after a consultation. No additional documents are required (except for foreigners), and once subscribed to this product, customers will continue to receive the same benefits even if they exceed the eligible age during the contract period.

LG HelloVision is currently undertaking a transformation of its distribution structure. Key initiatives include specialized products for the official online store (such as half-price cable TV and internet), self-signup and lightning-fast installation, and a customer-friendly UI, all aimed at reducing distribution and marketing costs to enhance fundamental customer benefits. The newly launched contract-free internet also focuses on strengthening tangible benefits for customers aged 39 or younger, who account for nearly 40% of online internet subscribers.

The product is expected to be popular not only among those who want to use internet without TV bundles or who live in short-term rentals, but also among foreigners, college students facing variables such as military service or leaves of absence, and others with flexible living situations.

Hong Wondeok, Executive Director of LG HelloVision's Consumer Group, stated, "We hope that the 'Yojeum Plan Internet,' which eliminates the burden of cancellation fees and maximizes rate benefits, will become an attractive choice for value-seeking MZ generation consumers in this era of high inflation." He added, "We will continue to innovate the customer experience by returning savings from reduced distribution and marketing costs to our customers through differentiated services."
