The Chimchon Neighborhood Park Water Playground is one of the region's most popular water play facilities for children and attracts significant attention every year. This year as well, it will be open twice daily.

The operating hours are from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Each session accommodates up to 80 people, with a total of 160 people able to use the facility free of charge each day.

For user convenience, an online advance reservation system will be implemented, with the first reservations available from 10:00 a.m. on June 23. Starting this year, if there are no-shows among those with reservations or if the number of reservations does not reach capacity, entry will be allowed on a first-come, first-served basis at the site.

The water playground is directly managed by the Park Division of Pohang City's Green City Project Group, which implements a variety of safety and hygiene measures to ensure that children can enjoy water play with peace of mind.

In particular, the facility replaces tap water daily and conducts on-site water quality tests, in addition to comprehensive water quality inspections every two weeks.

Furthermore, two safety personnel who have completed specialized training will be stationed at all times to ensure children's safety. The facility will be closed every Monday and Thursday for inspections and cleaning, and operations will be adjusted flexibly in response to weather conditions such as rain and on-site circumstances.

Shin Kangsoo, Head of Pohang City's Green City Project Group, stated, "We are thoroughly inspecting the facilities and water quality to ensure that citizens can use the water playground safely," and added, "We ask all visitors to follow the safety guidelines so that everyone can enjoy a pleasant water play environment."

Meanwhile, following the opening of the Chimchon Neighborhood Park Water Playground, Pohang City plans to open additional outdoor water play facilities in the region.

The Hyeongsangang Outdoor Water Playground and the Poeun Children's Water Playground within the Ocheon Sports and Culture Town are scheduled to open on July 12. The Doeumsan Forest Culture Training Center Forest Water Playground, the Yangdeok Hanmaeum Multipurpose Park Children's Water Playground, and the Agricultural Ironware Culture Theme Park in Gigye-myeon are expected to open around July 15.
