Business Agreement for Linked Tourism Events
"Establishing a Foundation for a Sustainable Tourism Market"
Damyang County and Jangseong County signed a "Business Agreement for Tourism Revitalization" on the 20th at the Jangseong County Office, attended by Jeong Cheolwon, Damyang County Governor, Kim Hanjong, Jangseong County Governor, and other officials. Provided by Damyang County
Damyang County (Governor Jeong Cheolwon) and Jangseong County (Governor Kim Hanjong) have joined hands to promote exchange tourism.
Damyang County announced on the 21st that it had signed a "Business Agreement for Tourism Revitalization" at the Jangseong County Office on the 20th. Based on a sustainable cooperation system, the two regions agreed to jointly respond to the expansion of their tourism markets and the revitalization of the local economy.
The signing ceremony was attended by key officials from both Damyang County and Jangseong County. Jeong Cheolwon, Governor of Damyang County, donated 1 million won to Jangseong County as a Hometown Love Donation, symbolizing mutual goodwill.
Under the agreement, the two local governments will each launch exchange tourism events targeting residents from outside their respective regions starting in July. Damyang County will host the event "Beyond the Wall, Shall We Travel Together?" while Jangseong County will hold "go!go! Promising You a Rewarding Trip." Both events aim to increase the length of stay and actual spending by tourists from outside each jurisdiction.
In Damyang County, visitors who take a certification photo at one of the eight designated tourist attractions in Jangseong County and spend at least 30,000 won at a restaurant or cafe in Damyang County on the same day, can present their receipt to receive a commemorative gift worth 10,000 won at the Damyang County Tourist Information Center. This benefit is limited to one per person.
Similarly, in Jangseong County, visitors who visit one of the eight designated tourist attractions in Damyang County and spend at least 30,000 won at a designated restaurant or cafe in Jangseong County can receive a commemorative gift at the Jangseong Station Traveler Platform.
The designated tourist attractions in Damyang County are Juknokwon, Meta Land, Korea Bamboo Museum, Gamagol Ecological Park, Damyangho Yongmaru-gil, Soswaewon, Korea Gasa Literature Museum, and Geumseongsanseong Fortress. Jangseong County has designated Baegyangsa Temple, Chukryeongsan Hinoki Forest, Jangseongho Tourist Complex, Hong Gil-dong Theme Park, Pilam Seowon, Hwangryonggang Garden, Sangmu Peace Park, and Pyeongnim Dam Rose Park. Jeong Cheolwon, Governor of Damyang County, stated, "This agreement will serve as an opportunity to connect the tourism resources of both regions and lay the foundation for stay-type tourism. I hope this will not only foster coexistence between the regions but also have a positive ripple effect on the local economy."
