Presidential Office: "Reflects High Expectations for Lee Jaemyung Administration"
The Office of the President stated on the 20th, regarding the KOSPI surpassing the 3,000 mark, "We feel a great sense of responsibility, as this reflects the high expectations that both domestic and foreign investors have for the economic policies of the Lee Jaemyung administration."
On this day, the KOSPI closed at 3,021.84 points. Presidential spokesperson Kang Yujeong said in a briefing, "This is the first time the KOSPI has surpassed 3,000 since December 28, 2021," and added, "Given that the stock indices of the major 20 countries (G20) have slightly declined during the same period, this represents a rise that goes beyond the international trend."
She continued, "This can be interpreted as a sign of heightened expectations for the new administration," and added, "The Lee Jaemyung administration is a government that gets things done, and we will usher in the era of KOSPI 5,000 through tangible results."
On the same day, President Lee Jaemyung also told his aides, "I hope that expectations for the domestic market will rise even further," and a presidential official reported that he added, "I hope that the KOSPI surpassing 3,000 will serve as such a signal."
