Cheonan City in Chungnam Province announced on June 20 that Shin Youngho, head of the Apartment Housing Approval Team 1, recently passed the 2025 First National Architect Qualification Examination.
The Architect Qualification Examination is the highest-level certification in the field of architecture, requiring more than five years of practical experience to be eligible to take the exam. The pass rate is only around 10 percent.
Shin Youngho, who began his public service career in 2004, has been in charge of apartment housing permits and responding to civil complaints. In 2016, he received a commendation from the Governor of Chungnam Province for his contributions to the Green Home Apartment sector, and in 2017, he was awarded the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Award for his contributions to advancing ministry operations.
Shin stated, "I started studying because I wanted to understand and respond more deeply to the various architectural issues I encounter in my work," adding, "I will work with a sense of responsibility in the field to ensure that citizens' residential environments become even safer and more pleasant."
