The international development NGO Global Sharing Movement (Chairperson Kim Hyekyung) announced on June 20 that it presented Korea's international development cooperation strategy in preparation for the 'Trump 2.0 era' as the keynote speaker at the Summer Academic Conference of the International Development Cooperation Society held at Jeonbuk National University.

During the opening ceremony keynote speech, Chairperson Kim Hyekyung analyzed the historical changes in international development cooperation and presented prospects for international development cooperation in the era of Trump's return to power. In particular, she proposed ways to improve Korea's international development cooperation strategy, including the establishment of an integrated, results-oriented ODA (Official Development Assistance) system.

Global Sharing Movement is currently implementing the 'Capacity Building Project for Performance Management in Domestic Civil Society Development Cooperation Projects' in partnership with Berkkela Co., Ltd., as part of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) policy cooperation project. This initiative aims to strengthen the performance management capacity of civil society organizations through policy research, capacity building, and network activation activities.

Within this project, Global Sharing Movement is responsible for network activation and has established five subcommittees in the fields of education, rural and fishing village development, health and medical care, disabilities, and environment and climate change. The organization has developed standard performance indicators for each field. In this session, standard indicators and indicator definitions for each field were presented, followed by discussions on how to improve and utilize these indicators in civil society organizations in the future, with participants' feedback collected.

Chairperson Kim Hyekyung stated, "It is an honor to deliver the keynote speech at such a meaningful event as a founding member of the International Development Cooperation Society," and added, "I hope that Korea's international development cooperation will provide more effective and sustainable solutions to the international community, based on the successful development experience and know-how accumulated so far."

This summer academic conference, co-hosted by the International Development Cooperation Society and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is being held for two days from June 20 to 21 under the theme "Changing Global Governance and Korea's International Development Cooperation Strategy."
