The Daegu Office of Education (Superintendent Kang Eunhee) announced that it will operate an 'AI Mind Pharmacy' experience corner for education office staff and local residents on the first floor of the East Building of the office until July 8.
The Daegu Office of Education is the first in the country to implement the 'Mind Semester System' in full this year. This system includes at least 15 hours of mind education classes per year for fifth-grade elementary and first-grade middle school students, as well as the autonomous operation of Mind Semester Learning Fair Weeks at each school.
The 'AI Mind Pharmacy' is a program linked to the 'Find Your Own Mood-Boosting Actions to Manage Uncomfortable Feelings' lesson in the fifth-grade Mind Semester System workbook, 'Mind High5.' When a participant shares their concerns with the AI, the AI diagnoses their emotional state and prescribes three out of thirty types of advice cards, called 'mind medicine cards,' containing warm comfort and practical advice such as managing stress, letting go of expectations, and relieving anxiety in relationships. Participants can read the advice on these bookmark-shaped mind medicine cards, giving them an opportunity to refresh their mood and resolve uncomfortable feelings.
The 'AI Mind Pharmacy,' which will be operated for three weeks by the Daegu Office of Education, is designed to allow staff and citizens visiting the office to directly experience the Mind Semester System programs that are actually being implemented with students in schools. This aims to build a consensus on the necessity of mind education.
One staff member who experienced the mind medicine prescription through the AI Mind Pharmacy said, "I was surprised at how accurately the AI program diagnosed my emotional state, and receiving mind medicine that contained warm comfort and truly necessary advice was a great comfort to me." The staff member added, "From now on, I will pay more attention to my emotions and actively practice ways to overcome difficulties of the mind."
Kang Eunhee, Superintendent of Daegu Office of Education, stated, "With the full implementation of the Mind Semester System this year, mind education in schools is becoming well established." She added, "As mind education spreads from schools to homes and society, I ask for the active participation of all citizens, including the Daegu education community, so that we can build strong and positive mental strength."
Meanwhile, from June 12 to June 14, the Daegu Office of Education participated in the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Premium Expo held at EXCO with the theme of 'mind education.' The office operated experience activities such as AI mind medicine prescriptions, making mind mirrors, mindfulness meditation, and growing a gratitude tree, introducing the Mind Semester System and mindfulness programs being implemented in schools.
