The Hope Market for Wildfire-Affected Areas was held for three days starting June 17 at the MBC Sangam Culture Square in Mapo-gu, Seoul, to support sales channels for farming households in the Yeongnam region affected by wildfires. More than 50 farming households from seven cities and counties participated, selling their agricultural and marine specialty products directly.
Jung Donghoon, Head of Strategy Division at Lotte Card, attended the support fund delivery ceremony held on site the previous day and delivered 10 million won in support funds for wildfire-affected farming households to Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association.
Lotte Card, as a sponsor, provided operational funds for the market to the Seoul Metropolitan Government and MBC. The company also promoted the market using the DigiRoca app and social networking services (SNS).
All customers who made purchases of 30,000 won or more at the market received an eco-friendly bag. The bags were produced by Art Impact, a local creator participating in Lotte Card's environmental, social, and governance (ESG) campaign "Think Us."
Through the Think Us campaign, Lotte Card supports "local creators" who practice eco-friendly product sales, local employment, and the utilization of regional resources.
A Lotte Card representative stated, "Lotte Card has been putting into practice the values of regional coexistence and environmental protection through the ESG campaign Think Us," and added, "We participated as a sponsor as part of the Think Us campaign because we sympathize with the purpose of the event, which is to help affected farming households recover quickly."
