Gyeonggi Province Launches "Youth Mutual Growth Cooperation Exchange Camp" with North Chungcheong, Gwangju, South Jeolla, and North Jeolla

Starting this month, Gyeonggi Province will operate the "Youth Mutual Growth Cooperation Exchange Camp" in partnership with North Chungcheong Province, Gwangju Metropolitan City, South Jeolla Province, and North Jeolla Province.

The Youth Mutual Growth Cooperation Exchange Camp was designed to enhance mutual understanding among young people and to promote a sense of community through cultural, policy, and historical exchanges between regions.

This year, around 300 youths affiliated with youth self-governing organizations (Youth Participation Committees and Youth Operation Committees) from Gyeonggi Province and each exchange region will participate in the camp. The program will run for either three days and two nights or five days and four nights, featuring hands-on experiences and policy exchange activities that reflect the unique characteristics of each region.

The first exchange camp will be held in North Chungcheong Province from June 20 to June 22. Participating youths will have the opportunity to experience the region's unique features and engage in communication through activities such as printing at the Early Printing Museum, boat rides in Hwalok Cave, yacht experiences, and craft workshops. In September, Gyeonggi Province youths will host youths from North Chungcheong Province.

In October, Gyeonggi Province youths will visit Gwangju.

Additionally, from July 22 to July 24, South Jeolla Province will visit Gyeonggi Province for a policy-focused exchange camp, and in October, Gyeonggi Province youths will visit South Jeolla Province. With North Jeolla Province, the exchange will take place from August 4 to August 8, with both regions visiting each other in sequence over a five-day, four-night schedule.

Seo Donghwan, head of the Gyeonggi Provincial Government's Youth Division, stated, "Youth exchange is a process of meeting new people and regions, understanding one another, and learning about differences," adding, "We will continue to expand the foundation for youth-led exchanges in the future."
