'North Korean Flag' Appears During Church Worship Service Live on YouTube... "Hacking Incident" Onnuri Church Homepage

On June 19, Onnuri Church announced on its official homepage, "During the early morning YouTube streaming service at Seobinggo on June 18, a hacking incident occurred in which an unexpected video was broadcast," adding, "We are urgently investigating the cause of the incident and will take action as soon as the situation has been reviewed." The church also stated, "We sincerely apologize to all members for the inconvenience."

The incident occurred during the live YouTube broadcast of Pastor Park Jonggil's sermon at Onnuri Church in Seobinggo, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, in the early morning of the previous day. For about 20 seconds, the North Korean flag appeared on the screen, and the sermon audio was interrupted. It was also reported that unidentified music was played during this time. Videos capturing the incident are currently circulating on platforms such as YouTube.

Onnuri Church does not believe the incident was caused by an issue with the original video file or equipment malfunction. The church considers it highly likely that the network or YouTube administrator account was hacked. It is reported that after completing its internal investigation, the church plans to seek cooperation from law enforcement agencies or YouTube headquarters if necessary.
