Uijeongbu City Launches 'Social Contribution Council' with 27 Public Institutions

Uijeongbu City in Gyeonggi Province has officially launched the 'Uijeongbu City Public Institution Social Contribution Council' in partnership with 27 public institutions.

On the 18th, Uijeongbu City held an agreement ceremony for the 'Uijeongbu City Public Institution Social Contribution Council' at Uijeongbu City Hall, where participants pledged to work together for community development and joint social contribution activities.

The ceremony was attended by Mayor Donggeun Kim of Uijeongbu, Kim Yeongyun, Chair of the City Council, Lee Sangyeop, Chief of Uijeongbu Police Station, Moon Taewoong, Chief of Uijeongbu Fire Station, Namgung Pyeong, Head of the Uijeongbu Branch of NongHyup, Park Heungsoo, Head of the Uijeongbu Branch of Korea Asset Management Corporation, and the heads of a total of 27 organizations.

The launch of this council is an alliance aimed at enabling public institutions in the region to fulfill their social responsibilities through mutual cooperation and to realize welfare programs tailored to the local community.

Going forward, participating organizations plan to promote a variety of collaborative projects, including the planning of joint social contribution programs, talent donation and volunteer activities, sharing of public resources, and the establishment of performance management systems.

Through these efforts, the combined capabilities and resources of each institution are expected to bring about tangible changes that citizens can truly feel.

At the ceremony, a total of 5 million won was donated to low-income residents in the region through the Community Chest of Korea, with the council and the Uijeongbu branch of Korea Asset Management Corporation each contributing 3 million won and 2 million won, respectively.

Mayor Kim emphasized, "Today is not just about signing an agreement; it is the starting point for the community and public institutions to join hands and design a shared future. When we connect the resources of public institutions and unite our hearts, we can create changes that all citizens can experience."

Meanwhile, the city plans to strengthen program planning and performance management systems centered on a working-level council, and to hold events such as social contribution project performance briefings. With the launch of this council, there are high expectations that it will present a new model for improving community welfare and social contribution activities based on solidarity among public institutions.
