On June 19, the Daejeon city government announced that it had presented plaques to 10 companies selected for the 4th D-Unicorn Project at the Daejeon D-Unicorn Lounge.
The D-Unicorn Project is a growth support program for promising technology startups that Daejeon has been implementing since 2022. Its goal is to discover local companies with technological capabilities and market potential and nurture them into global unicorns. Over the past three years, the program has fostered 30 startups in various fields such as bio, energy, and ICT, with five companies, including IntoCell Co., Ltd., having been listed on KOSDAQ.
The 10 companies selected as the 4th D-Unicorn group include SLM Co., Ltd., Innersia Co., Ltd., and JJNS Co., Ltd.
These companies will receive customized support, including growth acceleration funding, priority access to exclusive spaces at the D-Unicorn Lounge, and participation in programs connecting them to investment opportunities and global expansion.
Mayor Lee Jangwoo stated, "The D-Unicorn Project is one of the core strategies for transforming Daejeon into a global startup city," adding, "We will create a successful model for nurturing high-potential companies into unicorns, leveraging Daejeon's foundation in science and technology and its capacity for innovation."
