Announcement of Industrial Applications of Photonics Convergence Technology
to Be Presented in Yangsan on June 25
The Korea Photonics Technology Institute announced on June 19 that it will hold the "Photonics Convergence Technology Seminar" at the Yangsan City Hall Business Center in Gyeongnam on June 25, as part of efforts to establish a foundation for the sustainable growth of the photonics convergence industry.
This seminar is part of the Industrial Innovation Infrastructure Establishment Project, which is supported by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, Gyeongsangnam-do, and Yangsan City. The event aims to share achievements such as the development of high-precision measurement sensors based on optical fiber and the development of multi-image fusion diagnostic neurointerventional medical devices, as well as to connect related technology demands.
The Korea Photonics Technology Institute has recently been focusing on developing photonics-based technologies to address issues related to disasters and an aging population. The seminar will introduce the industrial applicability and prospects of photonics application technologies, including single-photon technology, photonics-based neurointerventional medical devices, and disaster safety monitoring systems.
Speakers at the seminar will include Kang Heeun, Deputy General Manager at Korea Electric Power Corporation; Cha Areum, Researcher at the National Disaster Management Research Institute; Sung Ryong, CEO of Pint Korea; and Kim Jeongsu, Professor at Yangsan Pusan National University Hospital. They will share their experiences in technology development and application cases.
