According to the Seo-gu Council on June 19, this training was organized to foster integrity among public officials, raise awareness of human rights within the organization, and create a sound organizational culture.

The training consisted of the following components: an integrity pledge, understanding of integrity and the code of conduct, explanations of the Improper Solicitation and Graft Act and the Conflict of Interest Prevention Act, and education on the prevention of the four major types of violence (with a focus on sexual harassment, sexual violence, prostitution, and domestic violence).

The training was held in two sessions, with lectures delivered by Joo Yangsun, head of the Integrity and Fairness Research Center, and So Seongsuk, head of the Soseong Education Counseling Research Center, focusing on a variety of real-life cases. In particular, by presenting actual cases that occurred in administrative agencies and councils, the training effectively conveyed practical points that public officials should be mindful of in the course of their duties, which resonated strongly with participants.

Participants commented, "It was helpful because it was not simply an explanation of laws and regulations, but offered concrete response strategies for situations involving violations of integrity or human rights that one might encounter in daily work."

Chairperson Jeon Seungil stated, "Building an upright and just public service is not a choice but a duty. In order to create an organizational culture free from violence and discrimination, both council members and staff must work together," adding, "Through this training, we will further mature our council culture and, by earning the trust of the community, live up to the expectations of local residents."

Meanwhile, the Seo-gu Council has institutionalized annual training on integrity and human rights. This year, by conducting integrated training for all staff and council members, the council strengthened unity and consensus within the organization. Moving forward, the council plans to continue capacity-building education to take the lead in realizing 'an upright Seo-gu and a respected council.'
