On June 19, Special Prosecutor Lee met with reporters at a law office in Seocho-dong, Seoul, and made this announcement. It is understood that lawyers Ryu Gwansuk and Lee Sangyoon are included on the list.

When asked about the proportion of judges, prosecutors, and military legal officers among the candidates, Special Prosecutor Lee replied, "There are several people included," and added, "I recommended those who are most passionate about uncovering the substantive truth." However, he added, "Since personnel verification is still underway, I cannot disclose the specific list at this time."

As a result, the Chae Sangbyeong special prosecution has become the last among the three major special prosecutions to submit candidates for special prosecutor assistants. President Lee Jaemyung must appoint the special prosecutor assistants within three days of the recommendation. The Chae Sangbyeong special prosecution can have four special prosecutor assistants, twenty dispatched prosecutors, forty dispatched public officials, and forty dispatched investigators.

Regarding cooperation with the prosecution, police, and the Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials, he said, "Once the special prosecutor assistants are appointed, I plan to discuss and proceed with them."

When asked whether he plans to receive dispatched personnel from the Marine Corps Investigation Team, which initially investigated the case, Special Prosecutor Lee answered, "We plan to receive personnel from various places." He further explained that this includes personnel from the Ministry of National Defense Investigation Headquarters and the Prosecution Division.

When asked whether a full-scale investigation could begin next week, Special Prosecutor Lee replied, "It will likely take a bit more time, as we need to rent a building and set up the office, including interior work, furniture, and computers."

Regarding the Seocho-dong office building, which is currently under a provisional contract, he said, "We have not been able to sign the contract yet because the budget has not been allocated," and added, "It's the same for other special prosecutions, but I expect the issue will be resolved and the process will move forward today." The Chae Sangbyeong special prosecution office is planned to be established on the 3rd to 5th floors of the Hwinmulgyeol Building in Seocho-gu, Seoul. It is currently under a provisional contract.
