Jaseng Medical Foundation announced on June 19 that it held a Korean medicine volunteer service event at the Korean War Veterans Memorial in Manila, Philippines, to mark the 75th anniversary of the outbreak of the Korean War. The event provided care to Korean War veterans, their families, and local residents.
The volunteer medical service took place on June 12, with participation from Shin Minsik, Chairman of the Social Contribution Committee of Jaseng Medical Foundation and Director of Jaseng Hospital of Korean Medicine in Jamsil, as well as a team of doctors of Korean medicine and nurses from Jaseng Hospital of Korean Medicine.
The medical team provided various Korean medicine treatments, such as acupuncture and cupping therapy, to three veterans, their families, and approximately 150 local residents. In particular, the team also offered health consultations to patients suffering from various musculoskeletal pains caused by the hot climate and poor living conditions, thereby helping to address gaps in medical access.
In addition to the volunteer medical service, Jaseng Medical Foundation also donated 10 million won on June 11 to the "MBN Scholarship Program for Expanding Educational Opportunities for Descendants of Veterans."
Park Byungmo, Chairman of Jaseng Medical Foundation, stated, "This medical volunteer service and scholarship donation are intended to express our respect and gratitude to those who dedicated themselves to our country and to their families," adding, "We will continue to promote warm-hearted sharing and action on a global scale."
Meanwhile, Jaseng Medical Foundation is taking the lead in putting into practice its management philosophy of 'Geungheuljisim' (the spirit of compassion?helping those in need) and promoting the globalization of Korean medicine through ongoing cross-border social contribution activities. Recently, the foundation has been involved in various international cooperation projects, including providing medical care and scholarships to descendants of Koryoin in Uzbekistan and supporting underdeveloped areas in Vietnam.
