On June 19, Kia announced the launch and start of sales for the updated models of its flagship sedans, 'The 2026 K5' and 'The 2026 K8'. The company has introduced a new trim called 'Best Selection', which comes standard with popular safety and convenience features preferred by customers, while also minimizing the price burden.
The Best Selection trim of The 2026 K5 comes standard with advanced driver assistance features, including: Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (for oncoming vehicles at intersections and head-on vehicles), Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (for forward exiting), Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist, Smart Cruise Control (with stop & go), Safe Exit Assist, Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control (for safe zones and curves on highways and expressways), and Highway Driving Assist.
Additionally, the model features Projection LED headlamps and LED rear combination lamps to enhance design completeness, while suede headlining, power seats for both driver and passenger, a relaxation comfort seat for the passenger, and a walk-in device for the passenger seat are provided as standard to deliver a comfortable and pleasant driving experience.
Other convenience features added include a Hi-Pass system, independently controlled full-auto air conditioning, an air purification system, auto defog, and a rain sensor.
The Best Selection trim of The 2026 K8, based on the Noblesse Light trim, comes standard with 18-inch machined wheels, double-laminated soundproof glass for the rear seats, dynamic ambient lighting, and suede headlining, enhancing the premium feel of both the interior and exterior.
Premium convenience features such as Surround View Monitor, Blind-Spot View Monitor, Remote Smart Parking Assist, Smart Power Trunk, dual wireless smartphone charging system, ventilated passenger seat, and auto defog are included, in addition to safety features like Rear Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist and Parking Distance Warning (side).
Kia has also improved the feature composition of existing trims in line with the launch of the new K8 trim. The Signature trim now comes standard with Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (including functions for cross traffic, side approach vehicles, oncoming vehicles during overtaking, and evasive steering assist), Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (for forward exiting and driving), Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist, Smart Cruise Control (linked to driving style), Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control (for highway and expressway ramps), and Highway Driving Assist 2 (including lane change assist), all of which enhance driving convenience and safety.
Additionally, features such as Built-in Cam 2, augmented reality navigation, fingerprint authentication system, Safe Exit Assist, electronic child lock, and rear occupant alert (sensor type) are now standard, reflecting customer preferences in the updated feature configuration.
The 3.5 LPG taxi trim now offers 18-inch machined wheels as a new optional feature.
The sales prices for the K5 are as follows: For the 2.0 gasoline model, Smart Selection is 27,240,000 KRW, Prestige is 28,080,000 KRW, Best Selection is 29,280,000 KRW, Noblesse is 31,540,000 KRW, and Signature is 34,690,000 KRW. For the 1.6 gasoline turbo model, Prestige is 28,870,000 KRW, Best Selection is 30,080,000 KRW, Noblesse is 32,760,000 KRW, and Signature is 35,460,000 KRW.
The K5 2.0 hybrid model is priced at 32,410,000 KRW for Prestige, 33,490,000 KRW for Best Selection, 35,730,000 KRW for Noblesse, and 38,680,000 KRW for Signature.
The K8 2.5 gasoline model is priced at 36,790,000 KRW for Noblesse Light, 38,130,000 KRW for Best Selection, 40,260,000 KRW for Noblesse, 43,900,000 KRW for Signature, and 45,460,000 KRW for Signature Black. The 3.5 gasoline model is priced at 39,870,000 KRW for Noblesse Light, 40,960,000 KRW for Best Selection, 43,090,000 KRW for Noblesse, 46,730,000 KRW for Signature, and 48,290,000 KRW for Signature Black.
The K8 1.6 turbo hybrid model is priced at 42,060,000 KRW for Noblesse Light, 43,390,000 KRW for Best Selection, 45,520,000 KRW for Noblesse, 49,170,000 KRW for Signature, and 50,520,000 KRW for Signature Black (prices reflect a 3.5% individual consumption tax and eco-friendly vehicle tax benefits for hybrid models).
Meanwhile, to commemorate the launch, Kia has prepared a variety of marketing campaigns and purchase benefits. For individual and individual business customers who take delivery of the Best Selection trim by the end of July, Kia will provide a special discount coupon worth 100,000 KRW for the K5 and 150,000 KRW for the K8, usable at the online 'Kia Shop'. Additionally, individual and individual business customers who take delivery of the K8 by the end of July will receive the 'K Style Care' service. K Style Care is a premium service that guarantees restoration and replacement within the coverage limit for each part in case of exterior vehicle damage occurring within one year.
