On Thursday, June 19, skies across the country will gradually become overcast, and the monsoon season will begin in the central regions.

Rain will start falling on Jeju Island in the morning, then expand to the Chungnam region, Jeolla region, and western inland Gyeongnam in the afternoon. By nighttime, rain will reach the Seoul metropolitan area, inland Gangwon, and Chungbuk, although many areas are expected to experience only light or intermittent rainfall.

The expected rainfall for the two days through June 20 is 20 to 60 millimeters in Seoul, Incheon, Gyeonggi, the five West Sea islands, inland and mountainous areas of Gangwon, Daejeon, Sejong, Chungnam, and Chungbuk.

The east coast of Gangwon, Gwangju and Jeonnam, and Daegu and Gyeongbuk (excluding the northern inland and northeastern mountainous areas) are expected to receive 5 to 20 millimeters. Jeonbuk will receive 10 to 40 millimeters, Gyeongnam and the northern inland and northeastern mountainous areas of Gyeongbuk will see 5 to 40 millimeters, and Jeju Island is forecast to receive 5 to 30 millimeters.

Morning low temperatures are forecast to range from 18 to 24 degrees Celsius, and daytime highs will reach 25 to 34 degrees. In inland areas, daytime temperatures will rise to around 30 degrees, and in many places, the maximum perceived temperature will exceed 31 degrees.

Fine dust concentrations nationwide will remain at 'good' to 'moderate' levels.

Until the morning, dense fog with visibility under 200 meters is expected along the west coast of Chungnam, the Jeolla coast, and the Gyeongnam coast. Some areas may experience light drizzle. In other regions, fog reducing visibility to less than 1 kilometer may occur.

For the time being, sea fog is also expected over most maritime areas. In the West Sea, there may be gusty winds accompanied by thunder and lightning.

Wave heights will range from 0.5 to 1.0 meters in the coastal waters of the East Sea and South Sea, and from 0.5 to 1.5 meters in the coastal waters of the West Sea.

In the outer offshore areas, waves are expected to reach 0.5 to 1.5 meters in the East Sea, 0.5 to 2.5 meters in the West Sea, and 0.5 to 2.0 meters in the South Sea.
