Established in 2012, GGGI is an international organization with 50 member countries, working to promote sustainable green growth and respond to climate change in developing countries.
The Ministry of Science and ICT and GGGI have agreed to cooperate in several areas: supporting the introduction and commercialization of climate technologies in GGGI member and partner countries; collaborating and exchanging information for the development and dissemination of public climate technologies; and building a cooperative framework to support overseas demonstration and dissemination of public climate technologies.
The Ministry of Science and ICT will support the overseas demonstration and dissemination of Korea's advanced public climate technologies, while GGGI will provide support reflecting the technological needs and local conditions of its member countries.
Minister of Science and ICT Yoo Sangim stated, "This MOU marks an important starting point for pursuing concrete and effective cooperation with GGGI under the shared goal of responding to global climate change through science and technology," adding, "We will continue to work with various global partners to expand and promote public climate technologies worldwide."
