A Platform for Sharing Technologies to Respond to Underground Development Accidents
Recruiting Industry Participants Until July 31

KINTEX (CEO Lee Jaeyul) announced on the 18th that it is recruiting participating companies for the Underground Safety Special Hall at the '2025 Korea Construction·Safety Expo', which will be held at KINTEX from September 17 to 19.
The Underground Safety Special Hall, being introduced for the first time this year, will be operated as a specialized exhibition hall covering all stages, including underground facility design and construction, facility maintenance, response and restoration to ground subsidence, and underground safety inspections. It will showcase advanced technologies and policies.
The Korea Underground Safety Association will also organize a variety of programs, such as international seminars and export consultations, to expand industry-wide networks and facilitate technology exchange. Companies wishing to participate can apply through the official website until July 31, and further details are available via the secretariat's phone or email.
This special hall has been established as a practical platform to address the frequent ground subsidence accidents and safety issues of aging underground facilities. Currently, more than 1,000 underground development projects are being carried out annually in Korea, but most facilities are over 20 years old, resulting in a series of major ground subsidence incidents. In response, the government is actively working to establish a scientific disaster safety management system and introduce advanced technologies, based on the 'Underground Safety Act' and the '2nd National Underground Safety Management Basic Plan'.
Lee Ho, President of the Korea Underground Safety Association, said, "At the Underground Safety Special Hall, which is being introduced for the first time this year, various technologies and solutions that can predict and prevent recent ground subsidence accidents will be presented," adding, "It will be an opportunity for local governments, public institutions, and construction companies to share information and practical solutions."
Meanwhile, the '2025 Korea Construction·Safety Expo' is an internationally certified exhibition marking its 7th year, with more than 180 companies in the safety industry participating. In particular, it will be held in conjunction with the 'Korea Safety Industry Expo' hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, and approximately 30,000 safety industry professionals are expected to attend, making it a venue that will provide the latest information to safety-related organizations across the industry.
