The signing ceremony was attended by key executives from both companies, including Shin Wongeun, CEO of Kakao Pay, and Kim Ibae, CEO of Jeju Air.
The two companies agreed to expand Kakao Pay's mobile simple payment service across Jeju Air's online and offline channels to enhance convenience for purchasing airline tickets.
They also decided to pursue collaborative projects such as data-driven joint marketing in order to broaden the range of benefits throughout the entire travel experience, from booking airline tickets to the journey after arriving at the destination.
Long-term collaborative projects, including joint research and improvements to the payment system, will also be implemented in stages.
CEO Shin stated, "As travel demand is rapidly increasing every year, we expect to further innovate user experience through this strategic alliance with the leading low-cost carrier (LCC) in Korea," adding, "We will continue to discover unique collaborative cases exclusive to both companies, such as differentiated user benefits."
