On this day, Kim visited the Seoul Disaster and Safety Situation Room in the afternoon to inspect preparedness measures ahead of the rainy season. He said, "Since frequent localized heavy rains are expected this year, please conduct thorough inspections to ensure that flood damage prevention systems are genuinely effective, and proactively reinforce any areas that require improvement."


Kim received a briefing on the operation of the Disaster and Safety Situation Room from Lee Eun-gyu, Head of the Seoul Disaster Situation Management Division. He also observed demonstrations of Seoul's smart water management system and flood prediction information system. Additionally, he received separate reports on the progress of summer storm and flood countermeasures from Lee Han-kyung, Director General for Disaster and Safety Management at the Ministry of the Interior and Safety; on the implementation of summer flood response measures from Lee Byunghwa, Vice Minister of Environment; and on Seoul's preparations for the rainy season from Jung Sung-guk, Director of the Seoul Water Circulation and Safety Bureau.


Kim emphasized, "What is more important than any system is the people operating it on the ground," and requested, "Please continue to do your utmost to ensure stronger execution and flawless preparedness." He further stated, "We will expand the Korean-style smart disaster response system, which combines technology and field operations as seen in Seoul, nationwide."
