With the peak summer heat approaching, HD Hyundai's management has taken proactive steps to ensure the safety of industrial site workers. This year, in particular, the scale of improvements to summer rest facilities has been greatly expanded. In addition to existing outdoor rest areas, HD Hyundai Heavy Industries has added 46 new rest facilities, and has also created new 'onboard rest areas' so that ship workers can rest without having to leave the ship. These rest areas are equipped with air conditioning and water dispensers.
Additional measures to strengthen workers' right to rest are also being implemented. From July 10 to August 31, lunchtime will be extended by 30 minutes, and outside of this period, if the temperature exceeds 28 degrees Celsius, lunchtime will be increased by 20 minutes to help reduce work intensity during the heatwave. In addition, the 'mobile snack truck,' which began operating on June 16, will continue until the end of August. The snack truck will provide a total of 44,000 servings of patbingsu, with 1,000 servings distributed daily throughout the shipyard.
