Yeongyang County participated in the 'Hope Market for Wildfire-Affected Areas' co-hosted by Seoul City and MBC to help residents recover their daily lives and revitalize the local economy after suffering significant property damage and psychological distress from a large-scale wildfire that began at the end of March.
This event is being held for three days from June 17 to June 19 at the MBC Sangam Culture Plaza in Seoul.

A total of 55 farms are participating in this event, including seven wildfire-affected cities and counties such as Yeongyang, Cheongsong, Andong, and Yeongdeok, along with 45 farms and 10 donor farms.
Some farms from the county that actually suffered wildfire damage are directly participating to inform citizens about the realities at the disaster sites and to share the county's efforts and responses for regional recovery.
In addition, County Governor Oh Dochang, Seoul Mayor Oh Sehoon, and the heads and deputy heads of the seven participating municipalities, including Cheongsong, Andong, and Yeongdeok, attended a preliminary meeting on June 17. They also participated in the Hope Tree message event, took commemorative photos, and visited the sales booths, where they met not only residents of Yeongyang County but also citizens from other wildfire-affected areas to discuss the pain and difficulties caused by the wildfires.
County Governor Oh Dochang stated, "I hope this Hope Market will serve as an opportunity for all residents and farms affected by the wildfires, not just those in Yeongyang County, to return to their daily lives as quickly as possible. Many residents are still suffering from the aftermath of the wildfires, so I ask for your continued support and attention."
