Establishing a Practical Foundation for Entry into the Indonesian Market

On June 9, 2025, a high-level meeting was held at the HPN-K Korea branch office in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, with the attendance of key figures from Indonesia's religious, industrial, and economic sectors to discuss practical cooperation measures between Korea and Indonesia.


This meeting was organized to establish a field-oriented practical cooperation system, with the aim of launching Sucofindo Partners, the official partner of Indonesia's state-owned enterprise PT. Sucofindo, and to strengthen trust and responsiveness to local regulations in the Indonesian market.


Attendees from the Indonesian side included KH Luqmanul Hakim, S.E., M.M., Chairman of the Audit Committee of the Nahdlatul Ulama Entrepreneurs Association (HPN), Indonesia's largest Islamic organization, and CEO of HPN-K Indonesia; KH Samsul Ma'arif, Chairman of PWNU DKI Jakarta of Nahdlatul Ulama; Budi Utomo, Director of Industrial Services at PT. Sucofindo, an Indonesian state-owned enterprise; Agus Suryanto, Head of the Halal Division at Sucofindo; and Irfan Y. Yusuf, Secretary General of KADIN Indonesia, the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.


From the Korean side, JaeHyuk Jang, CEO of HPN-K Korea branch, and Ohcheon Kwon, CEO of Sucofindo Partners, along with several other executives, participated in in-depth discussions on ways to expand practical exchanges between Korea and Indonesia.


During the meeting, Agus Suryanto, Head of the Halal Division at Sucofindo, an Indonesian state-owned enterprise, emphasized, "For Korean companies to gain trust in the Indonesian market, a thorough understanding of and response to Indonesia's halal certification system is essential. Through this agreement, SUCOFINDO, as a halal inspection agency (LPH) officially designated by the Indonesian government, will provide prompt and accurate inspections for Korean companies' products and services. At the same time, we will also support Muslim-Friendly Tourism (MFT) certification, thereby establishing a comprehensive foundation for market entry."


At the meeting, representatives from Sucofindo, an Indonesian state-owned enterprise, expressed their gratitude to the HPN-K Korea branch for serving as a practical bridge for economic and cultural exchanges between the two countries and presented a plaque of appreciation.


JaeHyuk Jang, CEO of HPN-K, stated, "This meeting was a meaningful occasion where discussions focused not on declarations, but on action-oriented cooperation. We will continue to provide practical and strategic support so that Korean companies can gain trust and grow in the Indonesian market."


The HPN-K Korea Committee executives jointly emphasized their commitment, stating, "Based on our accumulated expertise and experience in various fields such as halal certification, food and drug regulation compliance, and distribution expansion, we will fulfill our responsible role to ensure the successful entry of Korean companies."
