The special prosecutor team led by Min Jungki, tasked with investigating allegations related to former President Yoon Suk-yeol's wife, Kim Keonhee, announced on June 18 that it has set up a temporary office in Seocho-dong. Having completed the appointment of special prosecutor assistants earlier than any other team, the Kim Keonhee special prosecutor team will begin meeting with the prosecutors responsible for investigating Kim, starting in the afternoon of the same day.
The Kim Keonhee special prosecutor team announced to the media that it has secured a temporary office in a building near the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office in Seocho-gu, Seoul. While the special prosecutor's permanent office is scheduled to be established near Gwanghwamun in Seoul, the team will use the temporary space during the preparation period.
On June 17, Min was joined by special prosecutor assistants Kim Hyeonggeun, Moon Hongju, Park Sangjin, and Oh Jeonghee. Together, they are scheduled to meet with Park Sehyun, Chief Prosecutor of the Seoul High Prosecutors' Office, for 30 minutes starting at 2:00 p.m. This will be followed by a 30-minute meeting at 2:35 p.m. with Park Seunghwan, the First Deputy Chief Prosecutor currently acting as Chief Prosecutor of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office, and another 30-minute meeting at 4:00 p.m. with Shin Eungseok, Chief Prosecutor of the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office.
All of the investigative agencies the Kim Keonhee special prosecutor team will meet with on this day have previously investigated Kim. The Seoul High Prosecutors' Office is currently re-investigating allegations of Kim's involvement in the Deutsche Motors stock price manipulation case. The Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office is investigating allegations related to free opinion poll services and nomination interference involving political broker Myung Taegyun. The Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office has been investigating suspicions that Kim received an expensive necklace and luxury handbag in connection with Jeon Seongbae, known as 'Geonjinbeopsa.'
Min and the special prosecutor assistants are expected to discuss the current status of the investigations related to Kim with the heads of each agency, as well as a range of issues including the dispatch of prosecutors and investigators, matters requiring cooperation, and other reference points.
