Yeongdeok County to Operate "Peach Market" Starting July 25

Hope for Farmers Affected by Wildfires
as the Summer Vacation Season Approaches

Yeongdeok County in North Gyeongsang Province will hold the "Peach Market," a direct transaction event connecting farmers and consumers, from July 25 to August 17. The event aims to widely promote the excellence of peaches, a local specialty, and to expand sales channels for local farms.

The Yeongdeok Peach Market, held every summer, has received a great response from tourists visiting the area during the vacation season by carefully selecting in-season peaches produced locally and offering them to consumers at affordable prices.

In particular, Yeongdeok County is putting special effort into this year's "Peach Market" to overcome the difficult situation caused by the massive wildfire that occurred at the end of March and to bring new hope to the region, as crops suffered significant damage.

This year's Peach Market will be held at two locations: in Yeongdeok-eup (in front of the Namsan 1-ri Village Hall) and in Yeonghae-myeon (at the outdoor sales area of Yeonghae Rest Area). Farmers wishing to participate can apply to the Yeongdeok County Rural Support Division by June 27.

Eligible applicants are farmers who have their address registered in Yeongdeok County and are registered as agricultural businesses cultivating at least 3,000 square meters of peaches. For more details, please refer to the notices and announcements section on the Yeongdeok County website.

County Governor Kim Kwangyeol said, "I hope this Peach Market will provide an opportunity for farmers affected by the wildfire to recover," adding, "I look forward to many tourists and residents participating and sharing in the value of local agricultural products."
