Petiquette and Abandoned Animal Adoption Campaigns to Be Held
Siheung City in Gyeonggi Province will host the companion animal sports event "Our Neighborhood Dog Talent Show" on June 21 at the lawn plaza next to the Siheung Agricultural Technology Center.
The event will feature various experience programs, including a companion dog sports competition, crafting workshops, and a companion animal photo exhibition, along with campaigns to promote pet etiquette, raise awareness about abandoned animals, and encourage adoption. Participation in the experience programs is available by registering on site.
The venue will also include booths such as "Honorary Animal Protection Officers" to promote the city's companion animal welfare initiatives, a booth for nose print registration and promotion of abandoned dog adoption, and a booth for stray cat awareness. Attendees can also experience pet tarot readings, free veterinary health consultations, free behavioral consultations with experts, and complimentary hygiene grooming services. A flea market and food trucks will also be available on site.
Kim Youngcheol, head of the Animal and Livestock Division of Siheung City, said, "We hope this event will serve as an opportunity for Siheung to move toward becoming a 'companion animal-friendly city' where both people and animals can be happy."
